- Surface Preparation
For a robust bond, prepare surfaces by ensuring they are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, paint, or contaminants. Use a fine brush, such as a paintbrush, to remove fine dust on surfaces like concrete.
- Cut the Nozzle
If your grab adhesive comes in a tube, cut the nozzle to create an appropriate-sized opening. The size of the nozzle opening will determine the thickness of the adhesive bead.
- Apply the Adhesive
Apply an even adhesive bead along one surface. Wider adhesive coverage ensures a stronger bond compared to limited coverage.
- Join the Surfaces
Once the adhesive is applied, join the two surfaces together. Apply firm pressure to ensure good contact between the surfaces.
- Adjustment
Certain products provide a brief adjustment time to align bonded items. Use this time to make necessary adjustments, and gently slide surfaces side to side for adhesive distribution, improving bonding.
- Curing Time
Allow the adhesive to cure as per the manufacturer’s instructions. The curing time may vary depending on the specific adhesive and environmental conditions.
- Cleanup
If there is any excess adhesive that squeezed out during bonding, clean it up using a suitable solvent or as directed by the adhesive manufacturer.
- Storage
After use, seal the adhesive tube or cartridge tightly for future use, ensuring it remains in good condition.
Tip: To store Adiseal once opened, leave about 1cm worth of product out of the nozzle and store the tube upright in a cool dry place. Adiseal requires moisture for it to cure. The exposed part out of the nozzle will cure creating a cap. To re-use Adiseal, pull the cured part out or cut the nozzle until the uncured part is reached.
