Heavy Duty Drill Bits

Heavy Duty Drill Bits: Metal, Masonry & Concrete

Adiseal Ultimate heavy duty drill bits have been shown to be the most durable and fastest drill bits available. The range includes the strongest metal drill bit and strongest masonry drill bit. In endurance and drilling speed tests they have been shown to drill faster and last longer than any other drill bit. These patented drill bits drill into hard materials like hardened steel, concrete, masonry, brick and many other construction materials.

Heavy duty metal drill bit test procedure

To check heavy duty drill bits for metal, we conducted rigorous tests using a Scheppach DP60 drill press to find the top-performing heavy duty metal drill bit. The objective was to drill 10mm holes in 6mm thick stainless steel (SUS304). Throughout, the drill press maintained a steady 400 rpm. Using 10mm metal cobalt drill bits from renowned brands like Milwaukee Cobalt Red, DeWalt Extreme, Bosch Cobalt, and Makita ensured consistency. A 5kg weight was affixed to the drill press arm for uniform force and RPM. Tests were executed without lubricants or coolants, despite their potential to reduce heat and prolong bit life. The entire drilling process was meticulously recorded via video timestamps. Following the trials, the Adiseal Ultimate drill bit emerged as the undeniable champion, outperforming all rivals in holes drilled and time taken per hole.

Heavy duty metal drill bit durability test results

10mm metal cobalt drill bitTotal number of holes drilled (in 6mm stainless steel)
Adiseal Ultimate cobalt135 holes
Milwaukee cobalt red75 holes
DeWalt Extreme cobalt39 holes
Bosch cobalt15 holes
Makita cobalt12 holes
Cobalt drill bit durability test results

The Adiseal Ultimate metal drill bit outperformed Bosch’s best bit by drilling 9 times more holes and surpassed DeWalt’s top bit by over 3 times in hole count.

Heavy duty metal drill bit speed test results

The Adiseal Ultimate heavy duty bit not only showcased unparalleled durability but also demonstrated remarkable drilling speed. By conducting 10 hole drilling tests, we tracked the time taken for each hole and averaged the results. The Adiseal Ultimate bit consistently outpaced all other bits, significantly reducing drilling time and showcasing its remarkable efficiency.

10mm metal cobalt drill bitAverage time to drill each hole (in 6mm stainless steel) for first 10 holes
Adiseal Ultimate cobalt31.7 seconds
DeWalt Extreme cobalt38.5 seconds
Milwaukee cobalt55.8 seconds
Makita cobalt69.9 seconds
Bosch cobalt132.4 seconds
Metal drill bit speed test results

Adiseal Ultimate proved to be over four times quicker than Bosch’s top cobalt bit, substantially minimizing drilling time and effort.

Please note, these are our test results from internal testing. We recorded a video of each hole being drilled. These videos are available on request for your test accuracy verification purposes.

It’s important to mention that various non-cobalt drill bits, such as the Milwaukee Thunderweb, were assessed but not included in the chart to maintain fairness. For instance, the Bosch PointTeq bit couldn’t penetrate the 6mm thick stainless steel SUS304 during the tests.

Heavy duty masonry drill bit

The Adiseal Ultimate range features the fastest no-hammer masonry and multi-material heavy duty drill bit, proven to be the top performer in terms of drilling speed without utilizing the hammer function. This gives it significant advantages over traditional hammer drills. Its capabilities extend to drilling into various materials like brick, concrete, wood, and a diverse range of building materials, making it the top choice among carbide drill bits with a hex shank for masonry tasks.

Frequently asked questions about the best drill bits

What are heavy duty drill bits?

Heavy-duty drill bits are built for tough tasks and robust materials. Made from durable substances like cobalt, carbide, or high-speed steel (HSS), they’re designed to tackle challenging surfaces such as metal, hardwood, concrete, or masonry. With special coatings and tips, these bits endure high stress, retaining sharpness and performing reliably, even in demanding drilling situations, ensuring they stay effective over extended use.
