What is the best builders adhesive?
In an independent strength test of construction adhesives conducted by Ultimate Handyman in the UK, Adiseal emerged as the top-performing adhesive. Its exceptional heavy-duty performance outstripped all competitors, showcasing more than three times the strength of the next best product.
The test had to be halted as the screws securing the metal sheet started to tear out, and the hydraulic ram seal even gave way due to Adiseal’s immense strength, surpassing the test rig’s capacity to handle it.

How to use builders adhesive
- Surface Preparation
Ensure that the surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or any contaminants. If necessary, roughen or clean the surfaces for better adhesion.
- Cut the Cartridge
If you are using a cartridge-based construction adhesive, use a utility knife to cut off the tip of the cartridge. The size of the opening will depend on the desired bead size and the project requirements.
- Apply Adhesive
Apply the builder’s adhesive to one of the surfaces in beads or dots, depending on the recommended application method specified by the product.
- Press Surfaces Together
Firmly press the two surfaces together, applying even pressure to ensure proper contact and bonding.
- Support or Clamp
Depending on the weight or the nature of the bonding materials, you might need to use clamps or supports to hold the surfaces together while the adhesive sets. Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for curing time and any additional support required during this period.
- Curing Time
Allow the adhesive to cure as per the instructions provided by the manufacturer. Avoid subjecting the bonded surfaces to stress or load until the adhesive has fully cured.
Tip: To store Adiseal once opened, leave about 1cm worth of product out of the nozzle and store the tube upright in a cool dry place. Adiseal requires moisture for it to cure. The exposed part out of the nozzle will cure creating a cap. To re-use Adiseal, pull the cured part out or cut the nozzle until the uncured part is reached.
