Why Adiseal is a great adhesive for shower panels

Shower panels are large, single panels or sheets made from various materials, typically used to cover and enclose shower areas. These panels serve as an alternative to traditional tiles and can be installed quickly, providing a sleek and modern look to a bathroom. Shower panels are designed to be durable, waterproof, and easy to clean, making them a popular choice for both residential and commercial bathrooms.

To stick these shower panels to a wall, Adiseal is the perfect adhesive for shower panels due to its record-breaking strength, flexibility, waterproof properties, and other key features:

Strong adhesive proven by an independent adhesive strength test.
  1. Unrivaled Strength: Adiseal has undergone independent testing, establishing itself as the strongest adhesive and sealant in the market.
  2. Flexibility and Durability: Maintaining flexibility, Adiseal accommodates vibrations and movements without weakening or becoming brittle.
  3. Waterproof Performance: Adiseal exhibits complete waterproofing, suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, including underwater use.
  4. No Priming Required: Adiseal saves time and money by eliminating the need for priming, as long as the surface is clean.
  5. Non-Staining Formula: With a non-staining formula, Adiseal preserves the appearance of materials like marble, stone, or other porous surfaces.
  6. Excellent Gap-Filling Properties: Adiseal excels in filling gaps, providing a robust bond even on uneven surfaces.
  7. Strong Initial Grab: Adiseal offers a powerful initial grab, reducing the necessity for temporary supports during the curing process. For more demanding applications requiring even higher initial grab, Adiseal Hi-Grab is available.

Performance

The Adiseal adhesive and sealant, breaking records as the strongest, is capable of bonding and sealing various materials.

Strong adhesive demonstration on concrete block with different materials.
PVC and other items stuck to concrete demonstration block.

In a practical demonstration, we successfully bonded a concrete block and PVC using Adiseal adhesive and sealant. Remarkably, we achieved a robust bond on the porous concrete without the necessity for surface sealing. Adiseal’s outstanding performance characteristics enable it to adhere to porous surfaces without any worries of bleeding or staining.

Strongest adhesive in independent test

In an impartial adhesive strength test, Adiseal demonstrated over three times the adhesive strength compared to its nearest competitor. The test had to be halted at 3123 psi due to the screws securing the test rig beginning to tear out. Adiseal would have achieved even higher strength if the screws had not reached their limit. You can have confidence in the outstanding strength and reliability of Adiseal for all your bonding requirements.

How to stick shower wall panels with adhesive

How to stick shower wall panels with adhesive

  1. Prepare the surfaces

Make sure both the shower panel surface and the bonding surface are clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, grease, or any contaminants. Use a mild detergent and water for cleaning if necessary.

  2. Apply the adhesive

Apply a thin, even coat of adhesive to either the shower panel surface or the bonding surface using a brush or a suitable applicator, ensuring uniform coverage.

  3. Press and hold

Align the shower panel piece carefully with the intended surface and press it firmly into position. Apply consistent pressure across the entire surface for a robust bond. Hold the shower panel in place briefly to facilitate the initial bonding of the adhesive.

  4. Cure time

Adhere to the curing time guidelines outlined by the adhesive manufacturer. Adiseal typically requires approximately 24-48 hours for full curing, but the specific duration may vary based on factors like temperature and humidity.

  5. Avoid movement

Refrain from disturbing or applying stress to the bonded shower panel while it undergoes the curing process. This precautionary measure contributes to the development of a robust and long-lasting bond.

Tip: When bonding items in a potentially wet environment, apply the adhesive in thin vertical strips. This enables water to drain between the strips, preventing it from pooling on the adhesive. Accumulated water can freeze in cold temperatures, exerting extra forces on the adhesive.

Colours

Adiseal adhesive and sealant is available in the following colours:

Adiseal can also be manufactured in any RAL colour.

Please note the Adiseal adhesive for shower panels colours are stronger and have a higher initial grab than the clear version.
