How to seal metal with a sealant
- Surface Preparation
Ensure the metal surface is clean, dry, and free from any dust, grease, or debris. Clean it thoroughly using a suitable cleaner or solvent and allow it to dry completely before applying the sealant.
- Application
Apply the metal sealant following the manufacturer’s instructions. Use a brush, caulking gun, or applicator recommended for the specific type of sealant you’re using. Apply a thin, even layer of sealant over the area that needs sealing or between metal joints.
- Allow for Curing
Let the sealant cure or dry completely as per the manufacturer’s instructions. This curing time may vary depending on the type of sealant used. Avoid disturbing or applying any stress to the sealed area during this curing period.
- Check for Effectiveness
Once cured, check the sealant for effectiveness. Ensure it has created a strong, waterproof, and durable seal over the metal surface or joints.
- Maintenance
Follow any additional instructions or recommendations provided by the manufacturer for maintenance or reapplication if needed.
Tip: To store Adiseal once opened, leave about 1cm worth of product out of the nozzle and store the tube upright in a cool dry place. Adiseal requires moisture for it to cure. The exposed part out of the nozzle will cure creating a cap. To re-use Adiseal, pull the cured part out or cut the nozzle until the uncured part is reached.

It is also possible to paint over the seal with most paints (testing on a small area is recommended) or mix a colour with the ultra clear version before applying the sealant. Adiseal can be manufactured to any RAL colour (minimum order quantity applies).
