In a demonstration, we achieved a successful bond between marble and a porous concrete block using Adiseal adhesive and sealant. This strong bonding occurred without the need to seal the surfaces, highlighting Adiseal’s impressive capability to bond porous materials without concerns of bleeding or staining.
Strongest adhesive in independent test
In an independent adhesive strength test, Adiseal exhibited more than three times the strength of its nearest competitor, reaching an impressive 3123 psi. The test had to be discontinued as the screws securing the test rig started to fail, unable to withstand the incredible strength of Adiseal. It’s worth noting that Adiseal could have achieved even greater strength if the screws hadn’t yielded under its power.
Adiseal Adhesive Sealant vs Adiseal Hi-Grab
To achieve superior initial grip strength in an adhesive, consider using Adiseal Hi-Grab. It provides a more robust initial hold compared to the standard Adiseal adhesive, making it ideal for heavy-duty applications or situations where temporary supports are impractical during the curing process. Both Adiseal adhesive sealant and Adiseal Hi-Grab ultimately offer similar final bond strength.

- Surface Preparation
Make sure that the surfaces are clean, dry, and free from any dust, grease, or debris. Thoroughly wipe them down, and if necessary, use a fine brush or cloth to eliminate any particles.
- Application
Apply the adhesive to one surface, covering as much area as possible for a stronger bond. Avoid using excessive adhesive to prevent it from squeezing out when the two materials are pressed together.
- Pressing Surfaces Together
After applying the adhesive, firmly press the granite onto the desired surface, ensuring even pressure across the bonded area for a secure connection.
- Curing Time
Allow the adhesive to cure for the recommended duration, typically 48 hours for a full cure, as specified in the product instructions.
- Avoid Disturbance
Minimize any disturbance to the bonded surfaces during the curing process to ensure a strong and durable bond.
For secure bonding of heavy materials like limestone, granite, marble, stone, slate, or masonry items, it’s advisable to employ a dual approach combining adhesive with mechanical fixings, especially for vertical or overhead applications. This ensures added stability and support, minimizing the risk of detachment or accidental falling of the bonded items.
Suggestion: When bonding items in damp conditions, consider applying the adhesive in narrow, vertical strips. This allows water to drain between the strips, preventing pooling. In colder temperatures, accumulated water might freeze, potentially impacting the adhesive’s effectiveness.
Glue for Limestone
Adiglue functions as a glue for limestone, but its strength and flexibility are not as robust as those of Adiseal construction adhesive & sealant or Adiseal Hi-Grab adhesive. Sealing of porous limestone will be required before applying Adiglue.
In the demonstration below to show how Adiglue can bond materials to stone and masonry materials like limestone and concrete, a metal handle was successfully attached to a concrete slab using Adiglue. Before applying the glue, the porous concrete was treated with Adiglue Activator to prevent absorption. However, when using Adiseal adhesive & sealant or Adiseal Hi-Grab to affix metal to concrete, marble, slate, limestone, or granite, sealing is not necessary.
