(Last Updated On: 21 July 2020)

What is the best glue?

Adiglue is our best & strongest glue for many different applications where the surface area is small. For items with larger surface areas, use our record breaking strongest Adiseal adhesive & sealant.

What is Adiglue?

Adiglue is a high performance industrial strength glue that outperforms other super glues. Adiglue provides a stronger & less brittle bond than super glues.

Best glue is Adiglue. Better than super glue.

How is Adiglue better than super glue?

Adiglue outperforms other glues & is stronger than super glue because Adiglue is almost 100% pure cyanoacrylate. To make super glues cheaper to manufacture, most are filled with solvents. This results in the super glue drying extremely quickly but leaving a weak brittle bond.

The other problem is when the solvents evaporate away, the product quickly dries up in the bottle. As long as the Adiglue bottle nozzle is kept clean, Adiglue will not dry up in the bottle for 18 months even if the bottle is kept open. After using Adiglue, use Adisolve sprayed on a tissue to wipe off any excess Adiglue from the bottle nozzle.

As Adiglue is not filled up with solvents, Adiglue cures quickly but slightly slower than other super glues. This results in a bond that is a lot stronger as well as being less brittle.

Super glue gel

Adiglue has a thicker gel formulation which results in higher gap fill than other glues. The gel allows it to be used where other super glues would fail. The thicker gel formulation also makes Adiglue easier to apply & less messy than other products.

Clear glue

Adiglue is a completely clear glue and stays clear once it has cured. This is very useful when a clear glue is required like a glue for glass.

Glue strength demonstration

To demonstrate just how strong Adiglue is compared to other super glues, we have stuck together some MDF wood blocks together with Adiglue. We have then stuck some house bricks to the MDF & to other bricks with Adiglue. This is not be possible to do with other products.

The video can also be seen on YouTube.

What does Adiglue bond?

Adiglue will successfully bond:

  • Wood (porous wood like MDF require sealing first with Adiglue Activator)
  • Glass
  • Stone (porous stone requires sealing first with Adiglue Activator)
  • Ceramic
  • Rubber
  • Metal
  • Synthetic Materials
  • Leather
  • Plastic
  • Concrete (once sealed with Adiglue Activator)
  • Many other items

Porous materials will require sealing first with Adiglue Activator. This will stop the material soaking up the liquid.

How strong is Adiglue

Adiglue is one of the strongest glues available. The strength of Adiglue will depend on the materials it is being used to bond. On some items the strength of Adiglue is actually stronger than the material itself.

Adiglue strength example

In the example below we have sealed the edge of the MDF wood blocks using the Adiglue Activator then applied the Adiglue to stick the 2 MDF wood blocks together. Once it had dried, we tried to break the bond between the 2 block by stamping on it.

Best glue strength demonstration

As seen in the image, the MDF wood has broken before the Adiglue showing the it is stronger than the MDF wood.

Adiglue vs CT1 Superfast Plus glue

Adiglue is better than CT1 Superfast Plus glue. It would be very easy for any manufacturer to claim that their product is better than a competitor. We can prove Adiglue is better than CT1 Superfast Plus. Send us an email & we’ll show you how it’s better.

What is the Adiglue super glue activator?

Adiglue Activator is a super glue activator & accelerator with 2 main uses. The main use for the super glue activator is it will reduce the time it takes for the super glue to dry. The second main use for Adiglue Activator is to seal porous materials like MDF to stop the material soaking up a liquid glue. If a porous material is allowed to soak up the liquid, then a liquid glue will not work.

How to use Adiglue Activator to seal

To seal a porous material simply spray the Adiglue Activator thoroughly on the porous material and wait a few minutes before applying the glue.

To speed up the cure time of super glue, simply spray the Adiglue Activator onto the glue, especially around the edges.

Strong glue for wood

Adiglue is a very strong glue for wood & our best product for many different applications. Adiglue will provide a strong bond between wood & many other materials. It will work on both softwood, hardwood & man made wood sheets like MDF & chipboard.

As Adiglue has a higher gel formulation than other super glues, most natural wood will not require sealing before applying Adiglue. If the wood is a porous material (like the edge of MDF board), then sealing will be required with Adiglue Activator, so that the porous material does not soak up the liquid.

Glue does not soak into MDF side but edge will require sealing first.

It is better to use Adiseal adhesive & sealant when the surface are of the items are larger. Adiseal adhesive & sealant also eliminates the problem of having to seal porous materials. See our post for more information on how to bond wood to metal.

How to use Adiglue glue for wood

When using Adiglue to stick wood to an item, make sure the surface of the wood & item being glued together closely match. If there are any big gaps, then cut, file or sand down the surface so that they closely match.

To get a good strong bond between the wood & other material, making sure both surfaces are thoroughly clean will provide a good strong long lasting bond. Remove any dust, grease, oil, paint or any other stubborn deposit before applying the glue. Adisolve is ideal at cleaning a surface & removing oil, grease, tar, dirt & other stubborn deposits.

Apply the glue to one surface & push the items together holding them firmly together for a few minutes while the glue dries. Adiglue Activator may be used as an accelerator to speed up the drying time.

Best glue for plastic

Adiglue is our best glue for plastic as well as sticking many other materials. Adiglue will provide a good strong long lasting bond on most plastics including PVC & hard plastic.

For small surface areas use Adiglue but it is better to use Adiseal adhesive & sealant when the surface are of the items are large.

How to use Adiglue glue on plastic

To get a good strong bond between plastic & other materials, making sure both surfaces are thoroughly clean will provide a good strong long lasting bond. Remove any dust, grease, oil, wax, paint or any other stubborn deposit before applying the glue. Strong glue for metal

Adiglue is our best glue for metal when the surface areas of the items being stuck are small. It will provide a good strong bond when it’s being used to glue metal to metal or metal to other materials. Adiglue will bond most metals.

strong glue for metal to concrete
Strong glue strength demonstration, metal handle stuck to heavy concrete slab.

To demonstrate the strength of Adiglue, we have successfully bonded a steel handle onto a concrete slab weighing 18 kg. To do this we:

  1. Filed down any powder coating that was on the bottom of the handle that the glue is going to be applied to.
  2. Clean the bottom of the handle using Adisolve spray.
  3. Brush the concrete slab to make sure any dust is thoroughly removed.
  4. As the concrete slab is a porous material, Adiglue Activator was used to seal the places where the glue will be applied.
  5. Adiglue was applied to the concrete slab and the handle was pushed onto the concrete slab.
  6. Adiglue Activator was then used as an accelerator to speed up the curing time for the glue.

Although Adiglue has provided a strong bond between metal & concrete, for this application we would recommend using Adiseal adhesive & sealant as it will provide a stronger less brittle bond. See the how to bond metal page or adhesive on concrete page for more details on Adiseal.

For small surface areas use Adiglue but it is better to use Adiseal adhesive & sealant when the surface are of the items are large. See the mirror adhesive page for more details.

Glue for leather

Adiglue will provide a stronger bond on leather than most other super glues. Adiglue is almost 100% pure cyanoacrylate glue and not filled with solvents. As Adiglue is not filled with solvents, it results in a stronger less brittle bond.

The Adiglue Activator should be used on porous materials to seal the material before applying the glue.

Best glue for shoes

Adiglue will provide a strong bond when used to repair shoes. Making sure the surfaces the glue will be applied on are thoroughly clean will create a strong bond.

Glue for rubber

Rubber is a material that can be difficult to bond with most glues. Adiglue will provide a very strong bond on rubber. In fact Adiglue will fuse rubber when it’s used to stick rubber to rubber.

Glue for ceramic

Adiglue will provide a very strong bond when used as a glue for ceramic. It will also provide a less brittle bond than other glues. Adiglue dries completely clear & does not dry up in the bottle. As Adiglue has a thicker gel formulation, it is easier to use & less runny.

Glue for stone

Adiglue will also stick stone provided it is sealed first with Adiglue Activator. It is recommended to use the Adiseal adhesive & sealant for a stronger more flexible bond on stone.

Super glue with activator

Adiglue & Adiglue Activator are available separately. Some manufacturers sell the super glue with activator in one packet. This may increase the cost for people who do not require the super glue with activator in one. For this reason our Adiglue & Adiglue Activator are available separately.
